I'm not shilling for this Company, but I have bought EXCELLENT DVD's from them in the past, my favourite being The Cobra Ferrari Wars.

I've just preordered 2 of the above films.

Mr. S. Dude, I believe they will be signed by me, they asked for my signature when I placed an Order.

Other than that, I don't know what to say.

I can't burn you a copy, the fumes are too toxic.

I believe the actual record is just over 30 hours. I guy by the last name of Roy did it in a highly modified BMW 5 or 6 series. Dual fuel tanks, dual police scanners, dual Valentine One's, laser jammers, night vision goggles and even had "air assist" via spotting airplanes for the initial legs through the Eastern states. Had to average over 90 mph, and made up time in the Plains states by running 160+ for long stretches. Pulled up at the Santa Monica pier after trucking through West L.A.'s 10 Freeway at 110+. Studied highway construction maps for months in advance to plot the best route. Many potential "abort" decisions along the way. This guy has big brass ones that clank when he walks.

Automotive journalist Brock Yates -- who was one of the instigators behind the real Cannonball Run -- wrote a great book about it a few years ago. It's worth picking up a copy, if you don't already have one.

His name is Alex Roy and he wrote a book about it called "The Driver". Good read and you're right, he has some pretty big balls. Lots of other stories too of other Gumball type races he entered here and in Europe. If you haven't read it, you should order it today. ==)

He's actually a friend of a friend and was in our office a few years ago showing some clips of some of his experiences. Crazy stuff.

My (signed) DVD arrived yesterday.

Not sure what the postal gorillas did to the case, though. They put a big hole through the back of it.

Disc looks fine.

I just finished watching the DVD. I must say, it wasn't exactly what I was expecting, but it was pretty good.

I originally assumed it was going to chronicle the original Brock Yates era Cannonball Runs. But instead the film focuses on the U.S. Express races that followed them in the early 1980s, and on Alex Roy's attempt to beat the record set in the 1983 U.S. Express.

Nonetheless, Cory and the team at Spirit Level Film made another good car guy movie. The interest and tension level is nice and constant. A very watchable film. "Thumbs up!" from the SunDude.

And of course I won't spoil anyone's fun by revealing whether or not Alex beats the record of 32:07 from NYC to L.A.
