    Formula 1

I guess that I will stay in and watch the race today as my back is really hurting this morning. I did manage to watch most of the qualifying yesterday.

Interesting qualifying. It should be a good race.

In spite of stomping on his own male member Mr. Hamilton got lucky because Vettel ran into him and didn't take 1st or 2nd.

Well I hated to see Hambone win the championship, but it was well earned.

Really hoping that next year it's a 3 or 4 way fight for the championship.

My favorite driver is Michael Schumacher, the seven time champion. [I hope he is doing well from his skiing injury.]

I like Lewis Hamilton, a four time champ; as well as Sebastian Vettel (4 time).

I'll never understand why Nico Rosberg retired early after winning his one championship? Go figure.

I don't think it is as exciting as it used to be but if you want boring watch a CRAPCAR race. Even Jeff cordon went to watch the race in Mexico instead of the NASCAR race.

At least F! will drive in the rain. That makes things get interesting.

CRAPCAR can't even race on a dry track. I watched a few minutes of the last race and they had more people in the pit boxes than in the stands.

They race at Watkins Glen and Sonoma and bring rain tires. Xfinity runs at WG, Mid-Ohio, and Road America with rains. I watch all of those. I DVR the other races and may watch the last 20 laps.

Attendance is down as well as the TV ratings (not my problem). The France family are billionaires and still have the current TV deal (Fox and NBC). They ain't going broke. They own Road Atlanta and have put some money in it. They own IMSA and Watkins Glen.

I think the top teams are doing OK with their sponsorships. They may lose a driver (Matt Kenseth) and lay-off a few workers. They may get smaller jets (or fly commercial).

I suspect the lower teams teams may struggle and may close shop. I suspect that the car count will decrease from 40 cars to ~30 cars? F-1 only starts 20 cars and does well globally.

They have dug themselves into such a hole I'm not sure they can get out of it.

But have they ever raced in the rain? Not to my knowledge.

I remember one year it was raining at Watkins Glen and I thought, okay, we are going to have a CRAPCAR race in the rain. Nope. They canceled the race because it was too wet. And it was not even raining that hard. Nothing but a bunch of pussies.

They did race Xfinity at Mid-Ohio in the rain. There were sliding around. They had some rain at Road America this year, but it stopped mid-race and everyone came in for dry tires.

I remember the wet WG race. It was before Goodyear started bringing rain tires.

I just remembered the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve track in Canada that Xfinity uses (as well as F-1, IMSA,...). HSR (vintage racing) races at Circuit Mont-Tremblant in July. A few friends have attended, but it a pain in the butt to cross the border with a truck and trailer.
