I wouldn’t kick either of them out of the garage for leaking oil.
Amazing ... The Hagerty video was very interesting and helpful to my build ... and raises some more questions
I thought on the originals the inside of the trunk lid and hood were left in the raw aluminum ... this video shows at least this one was painted ... is this one unique?
Was there ever a configuration where there was one without and scoop but with sidepipes. It would appear that if the car did not have a hood scoop it has an undercut exhaust. Is this correct?
Thanks,
Carl

Carl,
Per the latest registry there was really no two cars alike. The inside of some of the trunk lids was just the bare aluminum and some were painted but I am not sure if Shelby did it or if the owners had it done by a dealer. As for the hood scoops and side pipes you would need to go trough the registry and look at the original bill of sale for every car, Nearly all of them have a list of changes that were made after the original sale and many had the scoops added.
Ron
Street Cobras had no hood scoop and under car exhaust. Most came with the 428.
The one line never heard in Heaven "Gee! I wish I had spent a little more time in the office."
Theoretically - the typical 427 Street Roadster was sold sans roll bar, sidepipes and hood scoop as standard equipment. But as Ron said, Shelby would do just about anything you wanted to one for a price. Some were later equipped with side pipes, some with hood scoops and some with roll bars. Some went the whole 9 yards to a cosmetic conversion to an S/C, dash and all. I'm sure some even bothered to update the springs, brakes and roll bars as well as the engines to S/C equipment.

Looks like Amelia Island has 3 original Cobras this year, including the barn find:

I am amazed at the vast difference in price of the slabside's vs the 3200 series cars. You would think they would be similar, as far as collectibility, but we're talking millions of dollars difference.
Now I can see a car with some racing history, or even a celebrity owned one, gaining a much higher price, but a street 427, vs a slabside?

That red 427 is a bit unusual - looks to be pure street roadster but has had a SC dash installed at some point. Slick car though.
