Well Kerry, it sounds like you've got a plan and it sounds like a pretty good one. I say go for it. (I'll be here cheering you on and providing moral support ). Really, I think that would be a great car and you just don't see many 60's around any more.

    Ted,

I was driving the '60 around the front yard and the radiator started leaking so I've ordered a new aluminum unit. That "investment" drove the purchase of stock replacement brake components (at least for now). The drums all looked good and the local Chevy dealer turned them yesterday. The shoes have meat and are dry so that saved a few bucks. If it needed drums and shoes I would have done discs at this point. The BOSS and local friends are pushing hard to just sell it (and a few others) to accelerate a GT40 project purchase When I'm not around the '60 (or the '41) it easy for me to keep with the program but when I'm working on them I keep thinking that I'll never find such solid cars to work on. It' tough since in a few months I'll have had the '60 for 30 years. Part of the fun is remembering the two '60s my Dad had when I was a kid. Heck, mine was still in regular service when I lived close to you (Valley Springs) in the 90s.

    I have to ask.

Was that you that posted the picture of the car on the Corvette forum or did someone steal your picture and claim it was theirs?

Are you sure you want to own up to that? If the guys around here think Vipers indicate inadequacies imagine what they'd say if they knew you hang around that other place

I'm hoping that potential buyers will see that and think, "quality stuff here".

If I'm gonna drive it for a while I wanted a decent steering wheel and tach to look at. I know I'm probably wasting money since it's for sale but it is so much better this way.

I love the old Chevy 2 door. Is it a Biscayne?

I'd be more excited about that, then the Caddy.

Yep, it's a Biskie. And it would look killer in black.

Kerry, there will come a time when you wished you'd kept and restored it...

I'm sure there will be many that will be very interested and you wont struggle to sell it for your price.

But you have to do what you have to, even if it sucks...

My wife and I have been talking about how we'll never find starting points like the Chevy or the Caddy but I need to stay focused on the priority list of cars I've made for myself. No if I can convince myself...
