93 Rare Vipers Sent To Crusher

This seems like a real waste of some very rare and nice cars.

How dare they pardon the Viper like a turkey. Silverback will start flinging poo.
The one line never heard in Heaven "Gee! I wish I had spent a little more time in the office."

That must be from close to 10 years ago. And you can't blame Chrysler for it. Some schools were given a gift with restrictions and they abused them.

That's the reason they are so rare. I believe they said the one in the video was the 4th or 5th one made.

I was surprised by the VIN comment. To my knowledge they were not legal cars and did not have VIN's. That is why they had to be destroyed.

That is what I thought too. But if they had a Vin then it seems they could be registered.

Well - since they were hoping for a pardon from Obama I guess this isn't real recent. Anyone know it's actual fate - is it now toast?

Didn't realize the coupe came out anywhere near that early. Must have been way in advance of actual production. Or maybe I just can't remember crap anymore.

It was at least 10 years ago. I lived in the Seattle area when that story came out.

Now if I had a young blond that could have been me. Instead I just have the senior bride.

I can understand the liability issue ... but it seems like there could have been a solution that could have reduced Chrysler’s liability w/o destroying the cars.

my only "real" Cobra is a 428 SCJ engine
Even just salvaging/selling the hoods would be a service to the Viper world.

Kerry, you are correct about that. Several years ago the police here confiscated a Viper from one of the drug dealers here and they decided to make it into a high speed pursuit car. It needed a new hood and after they found out what that cost they went ahead and auctioned the car off.
