It will buff out with a little extra care.

Best time of 9.14 ..all motor
I remember going there, in the old days. It was a dirt road, sanctioned by USSAC, and held on the 4th of July. They would grade the road, so that it was as smooth as possible. I worked for Firestone at the time, and we did the tires for the racers. The rubber had walnut shells embedded in it for traction. We would also cut out every other rib on the tire for traction. Having gone up there when it was all dirt and no guardrails, there is no way I could consciously race full out to the top.

    Al,

I am not certain that is the one but I think those two survived. They had a couple of cars run off over the side during that race and one driver was killed and the other hurt pretty bad but he survived to try it Again. Actually here is a better video of that wreck.

I would say that was one well constructed car. Those guys are forever indebted to whoever designed and built that thing.

Good harness system, with solid attachment points, is what kept them in the cage.
    Fast at any speed-Cobra
