This video sure shows the safety built into those cars.

Now own just a lowly Viper
All of motorsports has greatly improved the safety of their vehicles in the last 10 years.

Unfortunately it costs the life of many drivers to bring it about.

Thank God they have improved the safety, considering the speeds these cars run today.

Great video! My daughter is taking me to my first drag race in Feb in Phoenix. I'm really looking forward to seeing in person what I've read about and watched videos of for years!

    Evan,

If you are close to the track be sure to take some hearing protection as those cars are unbelievably loud especially during the burn outs. You will enjoy it and have a great time.

    Amen !
If you've never been up close to a running Top Fuel dragster or Funnycar, you will be amazed and it will become quite clear why those engines blow up on a fairly regular basis.

I've got two pair, but just realized I should probably order a couple more pair for my daughter and her boyfriend.

I saw one of those highlights in person at Las Vegas.

Evan - your first time will be quite the experience. You'll not only hear it but feel it shake the stands. I go to 4 events a year and the experience never gets old.
