    There is a simple rule that would preclude a lot of this self-induced embarrassment if followed - don't hammer the throttle unless your wheels are pointed straight ahead. Hell, it doesn't impress anyone to spin tires with the wheels cranked around - a 4 cyl Vega or Pinto can do that. That's sort of un-impressing company to keep.
