And you thought that you had a lot of work to do because you broke something. I can't believe those people standing right on the edge of the road to get their good pictures.
Ron
That looks like so much fun, but only about 4 times did they come close to hitting their target... it is still 20 points per person isn't it?

Everything turns out good in the end, if it doesn't there is always Bourbon.

Yes Ron , i have done this.... in the 80's.... once we were driving a top 20 class.... till a near top 10 class. Then it went downhill... we were at place 8 untill we rolled over... i over-estimade my skills. Went into hospital for 2 weeks with a perforated lung. Now i'm more wisenot to speak of the costs involved....

indeed Ron , when one go's racing ( circuit or rally ) we always search the limit... as long nothing go's wrong we think there's something to improve... we or the car can go faster . But with "one serious" crash you think backwords to the more "on safe" days.... that's why i stopped rallying and began regularity rallys. Also for the financial side of it... now it's a hobby , at the time it costs me a full time wage or begging for sponsors....![]()
I'm willing to bet that some of those left a mark.
There must be a hell of lot of Volvos in the boneyard over there. I wonder what the fatality rate is in that type of racing.

Some people raise the IQ in the room when they enter.......others when they leave
Does anyone actually finish a race?
The one line never heard in Heaven "Gee! I wish I had spent a little more time in the office."
How do all those people who run into the road know there's not another car coming? For that matter, how is the race controlled so cars aren't piling into one another?
Al, rallycars start per minute. Ofcourse when you loose 1 min , due going off road for example, you can have a car behind you![]()
This is also dangerous for spectators who are used to see every minute a car.... but the following one can be there within secondes....
When we visit a special stage we take the time of a car passing and see for the following one....so you can see who's faster , secondes either less or more than a minute.
In regularity ,what we drive now, we start also per minute. As we must drive a given average speed , normaly without accidents or somebody driving to slow/fast , you see no other cars in the special stages.
Barry,
Thanks for the explanation. But it still seems that some of those wrecks will take some time to move the car and there is great risk for another car to hit it. The video shows many crashes at the same location.
Well Al, they do kill off a few spectators a year at rallies.
