Welcome aboard Steve!! We would love to see some pics of your beast!
Hi Folks and thanks for the warm welcome!
Much like I was told years ago on the first day of school 'Hear all, see all, say nothing . . .' until you get the feel for the place, so I will go slow to start LOL. I'm a newbie owner (12 months) and believe it our not, my wife was the one who just dropped a comment one day, "Let's buy a Cobra" (just after we sold an MG) on account of the fact, she had been driven in one around a race track in England over 20 years ago. Well, when you got a provocative comment like that, what's a man to do?
I bought what I could afford for cash, with the intention of long term ownership and improving along the way, so as I feel I have some invested heart and soul (and money) which seems to deepen the relationship and understanding of what you have. I am soon to drop a 351w into her, together with a Tremac 5 Speed.
The Southern Roadcraft (SRV8) is a well respected English evocation and amongst the better ones (once) offered. This was built in 1987 and carries a 1966 registration on account of the Jaguar running gear. I can share with you more info over time, but for the time being here's a few photos - one immediate issue is to address are the tyres (width) in particular and I shall share this sometime soon for some problem solving for you.
Cheers and thanks again for the welcome!
Steve

Steve,
That is one really nice Cobra and you are really fortunate that your wife also likes them. I will be looking forward to pictures and a running commentary on any improvements or changes that you make and also would like to see videos of some of your drives. When you get into the changes start a build thread in that forum and all of us can follow along and learn.
Ron
Steve,
Great pictures of a great car. I think you should drive it some more and use the cold months (or too hot months) for any changes. If the car is older and you want to change out the tyres (tires) look for Cooper Cobras great value for the money.

Thanks Silverback - I am finding these pages extremely informative!
Steve,
Welcome to the group ... and thanks for posting photos of that beautiful red beast of a car.
I am building a Factory Five Racing version and the folks on this forum have been just great with technical as well as spiritual encouragement.

Hi James, I have been overseas about 7 months of the 12 of ownership, but will be back in the UK as of Feb 1st and yes, will get my engine swop done during that month when still cold and wet! I changed from the Goodrich TAs to Cooper Cobras - great value as you say and seeing as I don't plan on track days, the Avon's would be too extravagant! Many thanks.
Many thanks Carl, good luck with the build - respect for doing so!
Will look forward to seeing images / progress. Very pleased to have signed up to the forum with all this gene pool of knowledge to draw on. Made to feel like one of da boyz already with the welcomes. Pleased you like the red beasty!
Best, Steve
Many thanks Ron!
Yes will look forward to contributing and reading the posts and viewing the images!
