    Mac Yates Early 70's

Here's a photo a friend sent to me of Mac Yates after he won a National at M.A.R. in the 70's sometime...

Thought you's like it.... I raced with Mac in my 280Z..... we had some great races ....except everytime I'd go to pass him .... he'd cut the apex to much and through rocks up and brake my windshield..... then I'd really pass him and do the same .... but he had no windshield.... we always had a good time at StLouis...

    Morris,

Nice photo and story. There is a lot more to racing than just crossing the finish line.

Great add Morris. Would it be ok if I repost this in the "oldies photo" thread?

    Morris,

Thanks for the story and memories. The 280z was a very good car I thought. They used to have some that you could rent for the day at our track here.

    Morris,

Thanks for sharing. I mostly remember Mac in color. The Cobra by then was blue with white stripes.

    Morris,

This is the best place for your post as you were also telling about him and racing with him. The picture is good in either place as it is very interesting also.

    Morris,

Thanks for posting the pictures. In the first picture he reminds me of Dennis Gauge of My Classic Car. And I really like the look of his Cobra.

    Very nice!

Morris, your mailbox is full :-)
I asked Walter Roehrl: How can this be 700 hp on dirt road, I can't even keep my Fiat Uno with 45 hp going straight? W: It's all about the tires. - (right...).
