    Well WaffleHead, while I do like yellow, I don't like it on all vehicles. And the GT40 is one that I don't think it looks all the great on. Not bad, but not great.

    I would go with the Gulf racing colors like the originals.

    And while I'm down to only 210 pounds, I still would not fit.

    I noticed the Illinois license plate as it pulled in. Two things I like about Illinois, the food and owning expensive cars in that state is cheap.

    Think about it. The entire Ford GT program was a result of Ford getting his feelings hurt and ego.

    And think what would have happened to Ferrari if Ford had bought them out.

    My impression - actually I think Henry Ford II was more severely pissed off than suffering from hurt feelings. He undoubtedly had an ego but I'm not sure he had any feelings to hurt. He was pissed and he wanted to rub Ferrari's nose in it - no matter what it cost. And he set out and did it.

    IIRC the reason for wanting to buy Ferrari was a belief that having a successful link to racing would be good for selling the bread and butter cars. If they believed in that philosophy then the in house racing program probably was much more effective in giving Ford products a performance image and increasing sales accordingly.
