So Ron, have you decide what cars you are going to buy?

I was going to get the one in the picture but Nomad has already made a big deposit on it. Maybe one of the other cars. They have a nice 289 Cobra and some nice Shelby Mustangs listed.

But Nomads deposit was using that funny Canadian Monopoly money.

I haven’t decided yet which day or days I will be attending, but I will be there. Kissimmee is less than 90 minutes from my beach haven. Have already counted at least 5-6 ‘63 split window coupes, 4-5 ‘69 Boss 429 ‘Stangs, 3-4 ‘70 Hemi Cudas and pretty much every muscle car variant ever manufactured. I’ve been to the Mecum in OC Cal and also the Barrett-Jackson in OC. This should be quite the auction with well over 3,000 to cross the block.

    Dean,

I wish I could go with you. I wanted to do a phone bid in Nomad's name but he balks about anything like that.

That's okay Ron, Mecum balks at it too.

Thank you, sir! Just looking. I pretty much shot the wad buying back my Cobra. I just enjoy seeing cars that have been restored to such a high degree that they look showroom fresh. That and the one-off Ford GT prototypes and other Big 3 prototypes that occasionally show up at large auctions. There will be too much there to actually soak into one day so I might have to string a few days just to try to see as much as I can.

Going at least one day with a local neighbor and he has offered to drive his Hellcat there and back.

That's a scene I'd pay money to see...Nomad bidding at an auto auction.

I'm going to be there Thursday through Saturday or Sunday of the second week. Also just looking. Going there has been on my bucket list for years and the timing finally worked this year. It's also a good excuse to get away from our cold for a week.

    Al,

If you would like to do more than just look you could buy that GR-40 for me. Nomad refuses to even talk about it.

The one and only Super Snake Mustang from the 60s goes on the block. I remember when they had this car in a showroom in L.A.and no one would buy it for $8K. They finally lowered it to $5K.

    https://www.mecum.com/lots/FL0119-35...0-super-snake/

The one and only 1967 Shelby GT500 Super Snake
GT40 Mk II 427 engine, built specifically for this car
Purpose-built for the Goodyear Thunderbolt tire test
Shelby invoice, MSO and Goodyear tire test photos
    One-off chrome inboard headlight surrounds
Unique Le Mans Blue hood striping to distinguish the car
Fitted with passenger car, 7.75x15-inch Goodyear Thunderbolt whitewall tires
The Super Snake drove 500 miles at an average of 142 MPH and retained 97% of the original tire tread
The Super Snake was never mass produced because the projected retail price would be over twice the price of a baseline GT500 and more than a 427 Cobra
This prototype was sold in August 1967 for $5,000

I watched a few minutes of the auction yesterday but am going to wait until they put it on TV the 9th as it just isn't as good watching it on the computer. Here is another of the top listed cars and their estimate of what it will sell for.

    Damn that is nice.

I cracked open the piggy bank and I'm only short $8,499,999. Think I can get the rest on a Go Fund Me page?

Why bother. Just get it from Nomad. With my last figures he owes me $9,998,323.86. Have him take it out of that.

I am going to watch the auction on TV next week. I watched some of it live yesterday but on a computer monitor you just don't see as much as on a TV. And we are supposed to have rain starting today and going through the next 5 days so that will give me something to watch. I have been saving money to try and bid but so far have only saved enough to pay the electric bill for the TV while I watch it.
