    Snowing

Started snowing here about 30 minutes ago. Supposed to keep at it for the next 4 to 5 hours.

Time to take the Viper out and see how it does.

Go for it! Holding at 75 here but preparing for big poker party here tonight so no (driving) fun in the schedule. Drove both the Cobra and the Stingray yesterday. Talk about raw vs. refined...driving them back to back really accentuates both.

    It sure does Dean.

Even as primitive as the Viper is, it is still much more refined than the Cobra was. And I had the C5 Corvette and the Cobra at the same time, and C5 was like a Cadillac in comparison.

As much as I love the creature comforts of the Stingray, and with the active suspension, yada, yada, you can't replace the exhaust note and sheer exhilaration of driving the Cobra. 50+ years later and pretty much every car maker has failed to capture that in a similar way (noise restrictions and required safety measures not withstanding).

I believe the Viper is one of the few cars that comes close to matching the Cobra for keeping the car simple and to the basics.

Yep, that was the idea. The newer car though has a slew of safety features which add weight and complexity.

The wind is blowing here this morning and it is cold. A nice nanny feature on a car for today would be sails. Then you could save a lot of gas.

We got 6 inches of snow yesterday. Looks nice, but damn, I sure don't like temperature down in the low teens. That's cold.

Move to Arizona where it is always warm or hot.

    Jim,

But even that beats the continual rain they have in Washington. I never got so tired of rain and showers as I did the 6 months I was there.

That's a common misconception regarding Arizona. My senior bride thought at first it was 120 degrees every day and the ground was cracked and parched.

This picture was taken yesterday from my office window looking across the street at the neighbors.

Had to take my senior bride out shopping this morning so she could see what the squirrels from yesterday left behind in the stores.

This is a street about 3/4 of a mile from our place. There is a little rise, but nothing drastic and still people are parked all over the road because they got stuck. And a number of the vehicles were four wheel drive. All told there were probably 30 vehicles parked along this street and at least a few of them had run into each other. Hell, these people are just as bad as the drivers in the FSH when faced with snow.

Well the snow looks nice. As for the drivers they must be like the ones around here. These idiots can't even drive in a light rain.

Well Al, this is rare and in a few days it will be gone.

This is what it looks like right now.

As long as the sky is blue I can handle it here.
