    Funding Cobra Registry

Happy New Year to all Cobra Registry members!

We have been in touch with Darren over the past few months. He is fully into his racing now and needs to take a break from managing the site. Besides Ron77 who has been administering and me doing the moderating, we have decided to add some new young team members.

Paul Proefrock (PaulProe) and Kevin Sneider (Kevins) have come aboard to help Ron and I. Paul is very proficient with websites and Kevin can fill in for me when I am unavailable.

Darren has been gracious enough all these years to cover the cost of running the site. It isn’t very expensive, but there are costs involved. So we are members to step up to raise enough money to maintain the site...wait for it!!!

We are requesting site members to contribute $25 each toward site operation. With your contribution, we will send you an authentic “Cobra Registry” tee shirt. This is strictly voluntary and does not affect your membership with Cobra Registry.

The question is how many of you would prefer sending a check versus using PayPal? Please give us your feedback on this new direction. We feel this is an important step to continue Cobra Registry.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and we value your opinions.

    Hi Jim,

I'll contribute, Paypal is fine. And, I already have a t-shirt.

    Kevin,

You are still getting a t-shirt if you contribute $25. At least I won't have to post yours. I'll just give it to you.

    Sam,

Thank you. I am going to give it a week and when all the people who care check in I will give them a PM with my address. I will have to have their address and size so I can send them their shirt. We have every size except small.

Check for me as I don't do PayPal.

Besides, I want James address so I can show up on his doorstep someday.

And I need an XXXS T-Shirt.

Never mind, I'm just going to quit the forum. I wanted to be a moderator and now my one remaining feeling is hurt.

Will we get a note in the avatar area stating we are supporting members or something like that?

Thanks Nomad. Why not just kick my self esteem into the gutter while you are at it?

Thanks to all for your support. I will try to get things organized. Jan has already created the spreadsheets for accountability. I guess I have a lot to do. I will get back to all as when, where and how.

This is the first time I have heard about this and read this post. Is this payment a one shot deal or is this a yearly payment?

Stu has a good question. I was just assuming it was a yearly fee.

If so, have you gentlemen given any thought to a one time, lifetime membership fee?

I assumed it was going to work like a couple of other forums I belong to. They have an annual (on-going) donation program. Members donate an amount of their choosing, if they choose to donate at all. Donation is not required in order to be a forum member. There is a note added under your member name if you have made a donation. There is no pressure to donate or not.
