The old N500 is the one that I remember most. Three Cobras to race on top and one spare Cobra and a lot of spare parts just piled into the bottom.

Note the mismatched wheels. Wineglass Hallibrands rear, FIAs front.

Earlier pictures showed it with FIAs all around.
Is that the Pillsbury Dough Boy by the rear wheel?

    Drew,

In this picture of yours it looks as if the front of the Cobra has been somewhat mangled. Is that the camera angle or did he hit something with it?

As I am researching CSX 3008, I am getting a real appreciation for Harold Keck. Dude was a POW in North freaking Korea during the war, and upon release, started driving race cars. He would literally drive anything, anywhere, for any reason at the drop of a hat.

Carroll Shelby and Dan Gurney at the Targa Florio. Dan co-drove a Cobra with Bob Bondurant who is leaning against the Cobra.

    A few Dan fans...

1985 Video of Shelby GT350 and Cobra 427

Hope this works ... from FB

1985 ... I am not sure the Cobra portrayed is Dick Smith's or the 198 mph record holder ... I sure thought it remained in his possession for many years after 1985.

    Carl,

Mark Dougherty told me when he was out here that Dick's widow had asked him to take the car to their shop and he had put it in some car shows. Then when she decided to sell it he contacted Wayne Tereni of chasing classic cars and Wayne took it to his shop and did all of the detail work. He then brought it out to the Pebble Beach Concourse show and put it in the auction after that. I remember seeing the show on TV where Wayne received it at his place and the fuel cell was leaking. He patched it temporarily with JB Weld until they could pull it out and patch it correctly. Then I watched the show at Pebble Beach and saw him drive it into that show.
