Nice pics. Looking at the hills in the background, I imagine there was quite a rumble when they all barked to life!

    Ah.................................. music!

    John,

Those are really nice. Just where was those pictures taken? That background looks kind of familiar to me.

Those were taken in Alta Lake state park in central/eastern Washington. It's east of Twisp if you try to find it on a map.

Nomad, It's mid-September I was expecting mounds of snow up there.

Nice pictures with some stunning snakes in a area that looks like it could have been a nice drive. What more could be asked for. Thanks for sharing.

    John,

I thought that I had seen that area. It was a long time ago when I was at Ft. Lewis. When I got back from Korea I spent my remaining time there and we did a lot of traveling and sight seeing. And when I got home I had webb feet from the rain. But it is beautiful country and I spent a whole day over in the Olympia Rain Forrest also.

    2011-09-03, Swartkops Airforce Museum.

We got an invite to the Swartkops Airforce Base to have a breakfast, attend an air show and static display by the "flying museum" and also to get the opportunity to take some pics with the aircraft. Obviously we were there, 32 Cobras in all.

Ron, it's only beautiful when it's nice, and it was only nice this summer for about 3 weeks. Other than that, this place is a festering **** hole.

    John,

Compared to the desert in the Yakima area where they have the firing range, any place there is nice. My only dislike of the state was the continual rain. It seemed like it showered at least once every day. No wonder the trees are so nice and green.

    Q,

Great pictures and those planes are really great.I love to go to the airports and other places where they have some of the older things and just look at them. To bad they broke up the Harrah's collection in Reno years ago when he died. I spent many days and weeks there just looking in awe at some of the cars and planes he had. They even let me sit in the GT-40 that won the 66 LeMans race. It still had the dirt and grime on it from the race as they hadn't even cleaned it up.

In post #235 the third picture, that weird cloud in the back (with a bit of imagination) looks like it could be a ghost image of a cobra snake raising it's head. Think it was watching over the Cobra stand?
