Great pictures Q. I never cease to be amazed at how many Cobras you get to turn out at your car shows. I should live there and maybe I could get one. I hardly ever see one around here anymore.

Q,
Very cool, that looks like an awesome show. I have a lot of fun getting together with other "Cobra Guys".
Here's a few shots of a quick little improv Cobra show at the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, MA this weekend. I got a hold of few guys from the surrounding area and we drove in and had lunch. The wives went shopping, we went for a short run and took a few pictures.
People came from everywhere!
7 cars Cobras, 5 FFR's, 1 Unique 427, 1 BDR
Very wicked 500+ Ford 347

"Q" as usual the photo's are excellent! Thanks for thinking of us when you are at the Shows. The 3rd photo down from the top shows a strange looking beast parked between 2 VW's. It is yellow, and can only be a home-built something or other, as I just can't begin to identify it.
Also, is there a fairly devout group of early VW owners down there? Up here in Western Canada, there are not many enthusiasts, but what few there is, are REALLY into their restorations or modifications.
UpStateCobraGuy, love the shots, what a great day! Love your house with the church steeple! I have never seen a Backdraft Cobra, but they certainly catch my eye. They always appear to be very good looking in the photo's.
Cheers

Wow, Q & Pat,
Those are some amazing pictures and beautiful cars and settings. I agree with Nomad about the house. Everything makes a great background in these pictures.

Well Ron, if you book a flight now, you could still be in time to attend our biggest Cobra show of the year. ;)I never cease to be amazed at how many Cobras you get to turn out at your car shows. I should live there and maybe I could get one. I hardly ever see one around here anymore.

I couldn't have put it better. The "something or other" has got the round back of the Beetle, but a box type front that I can also only presume to be home-built.shows a strange looking beast parked between 2 VW's. It is yellow, and can only be a home-built something or other
SA is full of car fanatics so if it's got wheels, there most probably will be a club for it. And to answer your question, yes the old VW's has got a big following around here. Here is a link to one of them-is there a fairly devout group of early VW owners down there?

Stunning in all aspects. And like you mentioned, sometimes the "spur of the moment" arranged runs turns out to be the best ones. Similar to your run, our JIMS run was arranged only three days before the show. But the weather was good so the Cobras showed up. In all, another good day.![]()

We had our yearly Cobra Constructors Day at a Ford dealership in Sandton. They opened their workshop to Cobra owners, giving us the opportunity to have our Cobra’s inspected on the workshop lifts. Technicians were on duty and assisted Cobra owners with various tasks from torquing under carriage bolts and nuts to doing oil changes and services.
While all this was happening in the workshop, Boerewors Rolls (SA upgrade version of Hot Dogs) and drinks were being enjoyed in the show court.

And the last ones from the Constructors Day.
So this is what the chassis looks like from underneath.
No, she's not in the Cobra just for show. It is actually her Cobra and she doesn't just ride it for show either, she's a active participant in Cobra drag racing events.

Nice pics Q!
Q,
Great pictures as usual and it is great that you have a Ford dealer there who would do something like this. The one up here would charge you for parking their lot, and they sure would not let you put the Cobras on the lift and have their mechanics help out. I really enjoy all of the pictures that all of you post and I have seen modifications that I would never have dreamed of and they look and work great. It is of course by now obvious that I am not a purist.

Fantatic "Q"!
Umm................................. I would enjoy a Boerewors Roll.

Best of all, all the eats and drinks were sponsored by the dealership. But you had to be there as posting a Boerewors Roll just won't work.:eek:I would enjoy a Boerewors Roll.
