Non Cobra - Car Show pictures.

Does everyone there drive Cobras? Or do you just show them in the car show pictures.
WOW, I have just spent the past 20 minutes looking at all of the cars in the links that you guys posted and you have some great ones there. I saw a 1959 Fort that I was surprised to see as you can't find a 1958 or 1959 around here at all. I have tried for years to find a 58 as my first car was a 1958 Fairlane 500 with the 332 Police Engine in it. They don't even show up at car shows except for an occasional 59. And the older Volkswagen's are making a come back here also. Another car that I have looked for and can't find here is a 1964 Galaxie 500XL with the factory 427 like one I had. They never sold to many as that was a $500 dollar option and most people went for the 390. And I really like the old early 1900 cars as that bring back memories of my youth.

So based on this comment, I thought that it might not be a bad idea to show some other cars seen at car shows.

    Ron- Hope you'll enjoy this.

    Q,

Great cars. The work that people put into them is just amazing. Though I am not much of a Street Rodder, several of my friends are and I always look at the street rods at the car shows. And I have gotten some good ideas from some of them too. Except for the color, that yellow one in the first picture is identical to one that I saw a couple of years ago at our big show here. Before this republic became a police state, we used to be able to cruise through town and I would see some of the old Willies AA gassers make a trip through before they parked them. Talk about waking the dead and making the windows rattle.

    Q,

I just came back here to post this picture of one of the cars that I see at several car shows around here and this thread was closed. This time I had made the last post. I still can't find anything in the software that causes this. Anyway this isn't the best picture of the car, but I couldn't find the others.

Although I'm a Cobra fanatic, I share your sentiment on Rods.

As for the "Rum Runner", I think his Whiskey Hauling cousin is in our neck of the woods.

This car I owned when I was 18. One of my favorite cars I owned. This little small block kicked the crap out of many big blocks. I bought it from the original owner who was my neighbour at the time. Paid $2100.00 Hope you enjoy!

    Q,

To bad we can't get those two together. They would make some interesting pictures.

    Sawdust,

That is a nice car. Is it a Dodge Dart and did it have the 340 in it? I had a friend that bought a 1970 Dodge Dart with the 340 and it was one of the fastest cars around. We couldn't figure out why it rand so darned well and one day I got under it and took the numbers off the block and we broke them down but there was something that looked like an S at the end that none of the breakdowns showed. So I called the local Dodge dealer and he told me they had a man that knew about everything there was to know about the engines and their codes, so he transferred me to him. As soon as I told him whet we had he said we were one of the lucky few. It seems that when dodge fell out of the trans Am series they had a few 340s left over and they just stuck them in Darts with no rhyme or reason and we had one of them. Also there was something about the intake manifold and exhaust that the real MOPAR guys would recognize instantly and just as soon as my friend would open the hood they would ask him if he would sell the car. Boy, did that little motor run and make some big blocks around here look sick.

Here are some pics from the Goodwood Festival of Speed (July 2011). Sadly, I wasn't able to attend in person; but at least the Internet is full of images from this wonderful event in which rare and valuable cars do a high-speed hillclimb for the spectators in addition to being on static display.

At Goodwood, you can expect to see great Ferrari road cars like...

    Ferrari 275 GTB/4

    Ferrari 288 GTO

    Ferrari F40

    SunDude,

Those are fantastic pictures. Great cars and of course the last picture really sets it off. Now we will have Nomad's Fingerprints all over that picture.

Never mind my fingerprints on the picture, I've got print marks all over my screen now!
Sawdust, I love your little Dart! As many of you know, I am a Bow Tie guy, but I recall the 340 Swingers being big contenders back in the day.
A friend of mine bought one brand new, red with white bumble bee stripes, and was it ever a screamer! It would grab the RPM's like there was no tomorrow.
I also have a friend that bought a 383 GTS new, and to THIS DAY, ever mile on it has been 1/4 mile at a time! It has never been licenced for the street, and has brought home truckloads of hardware from the Strip.

    Sundude, Goodwood = Mecca
There is nothing else to say ......................

    Cheers

I love this little guy! It looks "old school" but was actually built about 12 years ago. The chap that owns it, built it ENTIRELY at home, including paint and upholstery. Very tidy build.
