    Charles,

U-Haul around here doesn't have car trailers. I went through that with a friend who wanted to rent one to haul his Cobra back East and he wanted an enclosed one. Every U-Haul place we went to around this area told us they didn't even mess with the open car trailers. Also I don't have anything to tow a trailer with either.

Gas?? Whats that? Is that something you would get from Nomads cooking? I usually run around 70-75 with a trailer. I get around 12-14 depending on the quality of the fuel. It gets better mileage out of state. 2000 miles at 55 mph would drive me bugshit.

GASOLINE!!!! The 14.5 were obtained at 65-70mph....now do go blabbing to U-hal that I exceeded their recommended speed limit pulling their trailers.

    Hi Ron,

Wow, sounds great and brings back days of old for me.

Great to see you out on the road in the Coupe, a terrific 10 min. birthday present for me yesterday.

OK, we had a nice day and I took the 69 Cobra for a drive over to the dam and then up North on the freeway. I just video taped the drive to the dam as I used the old road this time. You will hear a few clicks and that is the camera case ticking the wind shield. The Cobra's dash isn't very wide and I had to place the camera almost against the windshield and that road is rough.

If you want to really get the full effect use the link and go to You Tube and play it full screen.

Thanks guys. And Dallas everyone thinks it is a Torino until they get to looking at it and then they ask me about it. And none of them can hardly believe it still has the origial old bias ply PolyGlass tires on it. They are now 46 years old. That is one reason that when I blow it out I use 2nd or 3rd gear. I can wind it to 6300 ROM and still not be going much above the speed limit.

    Ron,
Obviously I've taken your coupe and wrung it out pretty good and about a zillion years ago done the same with the original 428 Mach 1 Mustangs. The big stompin' FE have's all the whumph in the world and the Windsors lots of snap. With your 2 cars, who wins 0-100?

I would give it to the 428 all things being equal.

    John,

It would be close, but due to traction issues right now I would give the edge to the Coupe. With equal tires and traction, I think it would be awfully close. Since I am not a drag racer, anyone could take either car and beat me in that type of race.

I would guess the coupe with it's newer tires would win that one.Rbun out

OK, Same driver. Same tires. Same road, same everything. I give it to the big fancy red car. If you want to figure in the time to get into the car, I definitely give it to the nice comfy red car. The little blue car is fun but the BIG RED CAR is NICE!!!

So ron, do you have a newer set of tires that you generally use on the street, and keep the originals for shows only?

    Bill,

No, I have had those on there since I got the car. I have thought about getting a set of wheels and some tires for just driving around but I don't do that a lot. In fact it turned over 41,284 miles yesterday.
