    Loading You Tube Videos ...

    Folks,

This came up from a question on my build thread ... how did I get the you tube video on to the site from my iPad?

First ... I could not load it on the site from the iPad for whatever reason but I think it is because you cannot get access to the correct URL from the YouTube app on the iPad.

Here is the equipment and software i am using and this process would probably work on any Mac computer but has not been tested.

Computer: MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2013)
Software: OS X Yosemite Version 10.10.4
    Browser: Safari Version 8.0.7

    1. Go to the You Tube site and select and run your video

    2. Copy the link your browser not the links provided by You Tube. I have yet to find way to embed the video on our forum or any of the other forums i am on, using these links.

Note: You must highlight or select the entire link!

    Your finished on You Tube

    3. Create the new post on the forum by clicking on the "New Post" button. You will see the box open with the following icons above the box:

Click on the icon that looks like a film strip and the following pop up window should appear:

    4. Copy the pasted URL in the pop up window:

    5. Delete the reference to a secure https site by removing the "s". Very Important Step:

if the "s" is left in the link will work but the video will not embed.

    6. The Results:

I hope this helps understand the process on an All Apple system ...

I am sticking this thread to the top for now so more members will see it and have a chance to see how it is done. Good job Carl and thanks for posting it.

What photo program do you use to get the bubbles with the text in them?

    Carl,

Thanks for this tutorial. I think I might be able to follow this.

    Ron,

It is a program called Snag It that is available for Mac and PC's. I have used it for years.
