dafuser,, Curious..is your hood prop rod attached to the wiper pivot? I can't quite see where it ends up in that picture?

Not on a Cobra (I hope...), but in case you were wondering which wheels NOT TO FIT TO YOUR COBRA, here they are.

Either this wheel was purposely manufactured this way or the designer obviously didn’t realize what it resembles....

No, not really. It was windy that day and the wind blew the hood forward and the prop rod fell out of the hood. The hood fell down and luckily lined up with the hood pins so no damage was done. To keep the wind from blowing the hood forward again, I put some rope thru a hood pin hole and tied it to my wiper post. That keep the hood from moving and having the prop rod fall out again.

I ordered a Lockar hood prop as soon as I got back home. I was lucky nothing was damaged by the hood falling.
Now with the Lockar hood prop, the hood can't be blown off the prop rod anymore.

    Thanks for the explanation.
That does look like a nice prop, and the locking feature is definitely a bonus. So which one did you get, and will it hold the hood open enough, for ease of working on the engine compartment?

Deep-dished spoke wheels. I'm thinking that RustyBob and Dallas will approve of the color... ;)

I got the Adjustable 6 level Hood and Trunk Prop - Polished model. It holds the hood wide open with the hood almost vertical. Plenty of room to work on the engine. I would think the adjustable 3 position model would work great as a trunk prop.
    Thanks Les de NA5AA
