I remember the RX7's before they instituted the noise restrictions at the track.

They were so loud it hurt your ears when they went by.

    Rog,

Anyone that wins and beats their favorites is going to have engines banned. Remember what happened to the GT-40s after the 1966/1967 wins. Ferrari complained that they couldn't beat the 427s so they made Ford go to a small engine.

Building FFR Mk 4 Roadster with 347
Interesting ... racing is full of examples of this supposedly in the name of "maintaining competitiveness". Both NASCAR and Indy have examples where new technologies were introduced and they were then banned the next year ...

I expect NASCAR to put governors on the cars any time now as they want to control who wins. And that inane policy of charters to the big teams. I don't care who you are, if your car isn't fast enough to make the field in qualifying then you shouldn't be in the race.

And now with Monster Energy sponsoring the Cup series, though they are putting out a lot less money that Sprint did, NASCAR can't decide on a name for the series. How about Monster Cup.

I'm still waiting for the Kotex 500.

May as well as everything else NASCAR does is a joke.
